Fausto Viterbo, M.D., M.S., PhD, Brazilian, born in Vacaria – RS. Doctor, Professor for the Discipline of Plastic Surgery of the Faculdade de Medicina de Botucatu/ Unesp is also the director of the Clinic of Plastic Surgery “Dr. Fausto Viterbo” established since 1982. Graduated in the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre – RS, took his medical residency in General Surgery in the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul for two years, finalizing it on December 31st of 1979. Coursed his General Plastic Surgery Residency in the Fundação Jorge Psillakis, Hospital da Beneficiência Portuguesa in Sao Paulo for other two years, concluding it in December of 1981. Post graduated in “General Basis of Surgery and Experimental Surgery” in the Faculdade de Medicina de Botucatu – UNESP. Received his Master’s degree on: “Denervation: contribution to the histoenzymologic study of the Gracillis Muscle of the Dog (Canis familiaris).” on October 23rd 1985. His Doctorate Thesis was: “End-to-side Neurorrhaphy. Experimental Study on rats.” accomplished on September 11th 1992. His Post-doctorate was performed in the “Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Department – University of Pittsburgh Medical Center” from April 2nd to July 7th of 1995, where he has developed two experimental studies: “Study of the enzymatic activity in the end-to-side neurorrhaphy” and “Neuroma prevention with the nerve hoop”.
