Fausto Viterbo, M.D., M.S., PhD, Brazilian, born in Vacaria – RS, is Adjunct Professor of the Plastic Surgery Discipline at the Botucatu Medical School / UNESP. He is director of the Plastic Surgery Clinic “Dr. Fausto Viterbo ”since 1982.

Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre – RS. He did a medical residency in General Surgery at the Hospital de Clínicas of the Medical School of UFRGS, for two years, completing it on December 31, 1979.

He did a residency in General Plastic Surgery at the Jorge Psillakis Foundation, Beneficia Portuguesa Hospital of São Paulo, for two years, completing it in December 1981.

Post-Graduate in “General Bases of Surgery and Experimental Surgery” at the Botucatu Medical School – UNESP with Master’s Dissertation: “Denervation: contribution to the morphological and histoenzyme study of the“ M. Gracilis ”of the dog (Canis familiaris)” (1985) and Doctoral Thesis: “Late-terminal neurorrhaphy. Experimental study in the rat ” (1992).

Post-Doctorate held at the “Department of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery – University of Pittsburgh Medical Center”, having developed two experimental works: “Study of enzymatic activity in end-to-side neurorrhaphy” and “Prevention of the neuroma with the nerve loop” (1995).

Free Teaching on April 13, 2010, by the Faculty of Medicine of Botucatu – UNESP.
